The Code of the Extraordinary Mind has an origin story uniquely its own.
It all started when Mindvalley founder, Vishen Lakhiani, was scheduled as the backup speaker at an event in Calgary in 2009.
The event was massive and extraordinary speakers from around the world flew in to take part in the festivities. Headlining was His Holiness, The Dalai Llama, then Sir Richard Branson, Tony Hsieh, Steven Covey, F. W. de Clerk, the Nobel prize-winner… and scheduled last of all was Vishen Lakhiani.
Vishen went on stage to share his model for living called Bending Reality (which you can learn more about in his book, The Code of the Extraordinary Mind).
This model helps you live life as if the universe has your back.
So, you can be pulled by a bold vision for the future, and yet be happy in the now. And little did he know at the time while giving the speech that he would win the audience’s vote (tying with Tony Hsieh), beating both The Dalai Llama and Sir Richard Branson.
People said, “You should write a book about this.”
But Vishen denied his calling.
Three years later, Vishen was invited to Sir Richard Branson’s private island, Necker Island, for a business mastermind. And it was late one evening, after a festive pirate-themed party, Vishen and his wife, Kristina Lakhiani, found themselves relaxing on the beach with Branson.
They were sharing their ideas on what qualities had made Richard Branson so successful and what, in general, made people extraordinary.
That’s when Richard Branson would summon Vishen’s calling again, and told him, “You know, you should write a book about these ideas.”
This time, Vishen could not ignore his calling.
Especially considering his favorite book was, in fact, Richard Branson’s, Screw It, Let’s Do It.
He knew this time, he had to write the book. It took almost 10 years in total for these ideas to fully crystallize, but now, The Code of the Extraordinary Mind is finished.
And it is yours to discover.
