When it comes to managing your financial situation, the subconscious mind is usually overlooked.
We tend to pay a lot of attention to the conscious elements of wealth creation: working harder, putting more time in and expecting greater results – simply because you put more effort in.
But how is that working for you?
Through my work, I’ve realized that to reach your financial goals, we have to regain control of the core values and beliefs buried deep in our subconscious.
This requires a form of mental exercise, what I like to call innercise. But first – brainwaves.
Brain Waves – The Gear Stick Of The Subconscious Mind
To understand the power of the subconscious mind, I study brain waves.
Think of a gear stick in a car. As you increase the gears, it seems like you’re going slower, but it’s actually because you are using less energy and requiring less work.
It’s the same thing with your brain: you need to slow down in order to go faster.
When you are in a relaxed state of being, you can bypass the conscious mind and go directly to your subconscious mind – where real, lasting change is made.
Here are three of the most effective tools I’ve used to help people regain control over their beliefs and values:
1. Precision Affirmations
We’ve all heard of affirmations: repeating positive statements to ourselves in order to believe it. While that may sound good in theory, there is often a severe lack of specificity that can hinder results.
This is where Precision Affirmations come in.
When you make a clear, definitive statement about yourself as if it is already true, your subconscious mind takes over and will act in accordance with that belief.
If you wholeheartedly believe positive, precise affirmations about your financial acumen and abilities, your brain will imprint these beliefs into new neural pathways.
Basically, you will literally begin to change the way you think – about money, about yourself, and about your life.
2. Visualizations
Visualization is a powerful tool to retrain your subconscious mind, because it allows you to feel and experience a situation which hasn’t happened yet – as if it were real.
The crazy thing is, if you genuinely believe something is real, your subconscious mind will not be able to tell the difference between imagination and reality.
The more specific you are able to make your visualizations, the more information you feed to your subconscious mind – causing positive behavioral change in your financial life.
Our conscious mind has a tendency to focus on and visualize past events, and these can often be negative.
In contrast, the subconscious is able to focus on the bigger picture and isn’t limited to only what has happened before.
What this means is, if you are able to genuinely “see” yourself as financially successful in your mind, your subconscious will process that as reality.
3. Meditation
Meditation is a particularly powerful brain retraining method because it transcends any form of conscious thought.
Through meditation, we are forced to submit ourselves to inner peace, forgoing any internal or external distractions.
Although meditation is often dismissed as a new age technique, the truth is that you can change your whole financial blueprint simply by taking the time to meditate for a matter of minutes per day.
Apart from helping you to physically achieve inner calm, meditation can also help you to become more psychologically stable and spiritually advanced – helping you to break down any mental barriers or limitations you have surrounding your finances.
You Can Start Using These Techniques Today
Now you know Precision Affirmations, visualization, and meditation are all incredibly effective – if done consistently.
The good news is, it only takes 30 to 90 minutes to change a habit.
What’s more, once you start implementing these techniques in your everyday life, the immediate changes you see will encourage and empower you to continue.
Simply by practicing these three simple techniques, you will be able to reach the financial goals you’ve always wanted – once and for all.
